On April 7th, members of the community gathered at Crossroad Community Church for the first ever Partner with Pathways Event. Breakfast was served and Pathways Alumni, Tysun Hicks and Jawon Sivels, shared their testimony of how Pathways impacted their lives and led to their current success. Because of the generosity of those in attendance, we raised nearly $11,000 for our students at the event. We are so thankful as an organization to have the support of our community.

Save the Date & Impact local Students

By pathways - February 11, 2022
With Pathways to Success and DoMore24 Delaware you have an opportunity to directly impact graduating seniors who need our support as they approach graduation and make their transition into college or full-time employment.

For the 2nd consecutive year, we have partnered with DoMore24 Delaware, an annual statewide fundraising campaign for nonprofit organizations. Last year this proved to be our greatest fundraising event of the year. We raised over $8000.00 and provided Pathways to Success graduating seniors with essential items for their college dorm rooms as they went on to college.

This year our goal is to raise $13,000.00 and with your help, we know we can get there! The funds we raise will again provide our graduating seniors who are going on to college with essentials for their dorm room. It will also provide professional clothing for our graduating seniors going on to full-time employment.

The best part is, the event takes place online over a 24-hour period, so anyone who wants to participate can do so easily, no matter where they are located or when they are available. It only takes a few short minutes to make a powerful impact.

We will begin accepting donations on March 3rd at 6 p.m. through March 4th at 6 p.m. You can request a REMINDER by visiting our donation page: Pathways to Success | Do More 24 Delaware 2022 and clicking on “Remind me to donate”.

We need your help to make the most of those 24 hours. Here are a few ways you can help:
  • Share the link to our website for this news article and event information: Pathways to Success Do More 24 Delaware Event Info
  • Share the link to our donation page: Pathways to Success | Do More 24 Delaware 2022.
  • Follow us on Instagram or Facebook and share any of our posts about Do More 24 Delaware.
  • Offer to be a ‘Pathways to Success Ambassador’ for the event and receive our Ambassador Toolkit. To volunteer, email: sgilmour@pathways-2-success.org
  • Help us to Spread the Word…

Let people in Delaware know that Pathways to Success helps students at Cape Henlopen High School, Milford High School, Seaford High School and Sussex Tech that are at risk for not graduating high school. Students enrolled in our program have a 98% graduation rate, with 96% going on to college, entering the military, or finding full time employment.

From all of us at Pathways to Success, THANK YOU for helping us to fulfill our mission of preparing youth, adults, and their families for successful lives.

Sincerely,
Fay Blake, Executive Director
& Our Pathways to Success Staff and Board Members

DoMore24 Announcement

By pathways - January 31, 2022

As proud Delawareans we are thrilled to share that we will be participating in a monumental statewide campaign this March 3rd and 4th.

Pathways to Success’ mission is to prepare youth, adults, and their families for successful lives. We utilize innovative and creative approaches in mentoring and education to help individuals develop to be healthy, productive, contributing and responsible citizens. We work in service to the at-risk communities in a spirit of offering hope through empowerment, education and information. We also assist in the elimination of housing discrimination through our Fair Housing education training in the community.

Every day we help students by having dedicated Program Administrators in the 4 Sussex County high schools in which we have our program in: Cape Henlopen, Milford, Seaford and Sussex Tech. We not only interact with the students during the school day but seek them out if there is continued absent attendance. Yes, we knock on doors to ensure our students well-being.

Can you imagine what life would be like for these students if the work we do stopped tomorrow? These are the students whose only meal of the day is in school or whose family needs help with paying their electricity, heat or rent. Pathways to Success is the consistent factor in their lives. Based on our C.A.R.E. model (Consistent, Authentic, Respectful, Empowerment), we never falter and no matter what, we are there for them.

It’s not just our work that makes Delaware a great place to call home. Even in our small state, there are more than 500 nonprofits working each day to provide education, culture, health care, shelter, a quality environment and more.

But the future of the work we do is not at all assured.

We want to do more! We must work together to ensure the continuation of the critical services that make Delaware safe, special and sustainable for future generations.

From March 3rd at 6 p.m. through March 4th at 6 p.m. we’re asking you to do more with us. Please consider giving to Pathways to Success at this year’s Do More 24 Delaware.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be sharing more about getting involved and what your help creates for the state.

Thank you in advance for your support.

Fall 2021 Newsletter

By pathways - December 12, 2021

On October 14, 2021, Pathways to Success Founder, Fayetta Blake, accepted her induction to the Delaware Women’s Hall of Fame.

The essence of Fay Blake’s life has been about empowering others as she was once empowered herself. This empowerment came from the support of four amazing women in her life, Maggie Matilda Mayfield (grandmother), Grace Taylor (mother), Alice H. Dixon (aunt) and Mildred Deans (aunt) along with grade schoolteachers who saw past her circumstances and believed in her abilities.
