Make it easy on yourself! Ask yourself a simple question: Are you a visual (see), auditory (hear), or kinesthetic (hands-on) learner?
What if you aren't sure what category of learning you fall into? Well, think back to all those classes you have taken throughout your academic career. There were forms of learning that came much easier to you than other forms. There's your learning style. Develop study skills that are tailored to your unique style of learning to achieve more productive results. The following strategies are effective for most learning styles:


• Remember your education is your first priority.
- Take notes in class and rewrite them at home


• Use abbreviations when necessary.


• Ask questions about the material while in class and record the answers.
- It is best to study in a quiet place away from distractions


• Do not listen to music or TV. It is virtually impossible to do two things at once when
- Study harder subjects first


• When doing homework, leave the easier, more fun subjects until you have tackled subjects


that require you to be more energetic first.
- Read text assignments actively and slowly before and after class


• Think about what you are reading.


• Don’t speed read through your assignments. The slower you read and think about the text,


the more you will retain.
- Highlight important facts and make notes in the margins


• When you review the information later, it will help you zero in on key information.


• The key is doing it on time, and turning it in.


• Write down problems, and show how you arrived at your answers.


• One technique is to make flash cards of the information you are studying.


• Review information that you have previously highlighted in your text.
